DESCRIPTION OF TECHNOLOGY

The main problem of using household ozonizers working on a barrier discharge is the formation of nitrogen oxides in the discharge chamber of the ozonizer during operation. When using ozonizers operating in dry air, an electric discharge dissociates nitrogen molecules. Atomic nitrogen, reacting with oxygen, forms oxides that react with water vapor to form acids. This leads to the appearance of a conductive acidic film on the electrodes, which blocks the normal operation of the ozonizer, and leads to a sharp deterioration in performance. During operation, nitrogen oxides accumulate in the discharge chamber, create an obstacle to the passage of air, increase energy consumption, and the productivity and concentration of ozone in the mixture decreases.

To ensure the normal operation of traditional barrier ozonizers, it is necessary to use special systems of preliminary preparation and deep air drying. Such systems are quite complex and expensive, which is a significant obstacle to the use of ozonation equipment in small water and air treatment plants. And all the ozonizers that were previously on the market and operated without air drying required frequent maintenance and replacement of the discharge chamber, which was actually a consumable.

Specialists of NPO ECOZON have developed a new principle for obtaining a pulsed barrier discharge with parameters of a low-temperature plasma. Such a discharge produces an amount of energy sufficient to dissociate oxygen molecules, but not enough to destroy nitrogen molecules. Thus, the very possibility of the formation of nitrogen oxides and, as a result, acids and an acid film on the inner surface of the ozonizer chamber is blocked. As a result, the service life of the discharge chamber and electrode is increased several times, the concentration and performance remain unchanged, and the need for ozonizer maintenance also disappears.
